Five years after the closure of Montenegro Airlines, former employees have still not received all outstanding salaries and severance pay, while the assets of the former national airline have in the meantime either been sold or leased.

Former workers say that after that time passed, it became clear that the decision to close the company was not based on a realistic analysis of the situation in the company, but rather on, as they claim, untrue allegations by the authorities at the time.

Former employees believe that three untruths were told at the time, the first – that there was no legal possibility to help Montenegro Airlines, although a special law was passed that made it possible, the second – that Montenegro Airlines had no money at that moment, although, as they claim, there was over 11 million dollars in the account, and the third – that the new airline Air Montenegro would cost 0 euros, only to turn out that the founding investment alone amounted to 30 million euros.
