  1. Woo Hoo, great Christmas Present! (for the fuckers who were paid off in ‘mediation’ no doubt)

I’d love to know why they withdraw it. I can’t imagine there were any concessions made for them. So, were they given a payoff?

  3. I’ve a new investment idea!

Instead of playing the millionaire raffle at Christmas, we should crowdfund litigation against public infrastructure projects to get a payoff! Everybody wins!

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

For unto you is born this day in the city of Dublin a Saviour, which is The Metrolink

Finglas Luas is a smaller project and won’t get the headlines Metrolink gets, but I hope to god Manhattan Peanuts see some sense and withdraw their similar JR.

    wow, NIMBYism can be defeated!

Not sure I have ever seen objectors so publically shamed like this. The fact they were in Ranelagh and rich (owning McCabes Pharmacies!) , and Metrolink so vital for Dublin, probably made it easier for the general public to get on board with shaming them.

The system is a total mess. Considering construction inflation there isn’t a possible (hypothetical) fee that could’ve been paid to the residents that would’ve represented bad value to the taxpayer. I would say they have no right to that money based off their frivolous objection but this about as good an outcome we could’ve gotten from this debacle. JR system in need of serious change but hey let’s look at the positives

Maybe the boycott of McCabes pharmacy made herself realise the poor people she didnt want near her house were the same poor people who use her business and therefore pay the mortgage on that house.

  9. Now Just dont let BAM have any part of the bidding process. If they have any part of it, it will become a generational project

  10. Withdrawn for cash.

The Irish Times also had an article up, but it’s not accessible right now.

Hopefully they had some shame and withdrew it. Im sure the public outcry and transparency of the individuals bringing it helped.

Contrary to Thatchers saying, there is such a thing as society and it’s vital

Does this give a precedent for others to object along the line too? Or has the window closed now?
