    From the article:

Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh has suggested President Donald Trump could attempt to deploy troops to U.S. cities under the Insurrection Act.

Kavanaugh’s remarks came in a separate opinion after the court on Tuesday refused to allow the Trump administration to deploy National Guard troops in the Chicago area to support its immigration crackdown.

The high court declined the administration’s emergency request to overturn a ruling by U.S. District Judge April Perry that had blocked the deployment of troops. Three justices—Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas and Neil Gorsuch—publicly dissented.

Is this Kavenaugh telling Trump what to do to get around the majority decision? It sure sounds like it.

  3. Well, thankfully, if the President violates a SCOTUS ruling, we can still hold him accountable- Oh. Nevermind.

  4. At some point, something’s gotta give. The American people are sick as shit of this thieving, murdering, traitor. The best Christmas gift we could receive is for this guy to be impeached, imprisoned, and all assets seized.

  5. So, all of these unprecedented executive actions will also be available to the next president, right? And the next after that? Even when they are not Republicans? Right?

  6. So the supremest rapist kavanaugh is telling trump the SC will be fine with trump declaring an insurrection and sending troops onto American soil and attack US citizens. Trump doesn’t have a problem with killing anyone including American citizens – women children elderly.

  7. It’s like the MAGA on the bench are giving him a blueprint on what to do, and what laws to invoke , just like a personal lawyer would do .

To have a president threatening war against (Venezuela) and have his minions drum up support for an occupation of a neutral nation (Greenland) which is presided by an ally (Denmark), who is also a member of the UN and EU. While, wanting to put boots on the ground in an American cities to arrest/harass innocent citizens. As, evidence is coming forward that the current President may have engaged in child rape and committed all sorts of political crimes/corruption in less than a year.

How the f#ck is any reasonable person still MAGA at this point?

Nothing like having the Supreme Court Justice giving the playbook to the executive branch.

In a sane world, Congress would rush back from the holidays to impeach him asap. Alas, we live in a different reality

I love how the Court is strictly Originalist until they find a 200 year-old law that lets the President treat a local protest like the Battle of Gettysburg.

  12. They basically have to start war before the mid-terms. That will be the backdrop he/congress needs to prevent the blue wave. God this country is so fucked.

According to the evidence… he’s literally a serial killer. We need to drag him out of the White House and throw him in prison for the rest of his life. We can set him up with a creepy roommate so he knows what it’s like to fear being vulnerable just like his victims.

  14. That’s not what they said.

They said because of Posse Comitatus, a President can’t just deploy troops like he has been doing, only when the Insurrection Act is in effect.

The criteria for the Insurrection Act being available are *supposed* to be pretty strict, as in the states own police are no longer functional.

  15. If republicans were afraid of losing every inch of power they had, declaring this is surely going to guarantee a sweeping midterm loss.

Many Republicans are former or active military. Outside of trump’s small yet vocal maga base, this will highly piss off former and active duty troops

  16. Show me where there is an armed revolt against the government. That is the definition of insurrection.

  17. I think everyone should just agree to just stop… in a literal sense. If he invokes the insurrection act. Stop. Don’t go to school, don’t go to work. Bring the entire economy to a fucking halt.

  18. Kavanaugh was just counseling Trump on how to circumvent the law to punish anyone that might disagree with him. That’s all. Nothing abnormal about that.

When the Supreme Court starts suggesting creative ways to get around legal cases, it’s time for a new Supreme Court.

Is the implication that a president can merely declare the Insurrection Act, and there are no checks or balances to that? What the actual fuck is happening?
