From hit songs to starring in holiday classics, Rosemary Clooney captivated generations.

The Maysville, Kentucky, native made her singing debut as half of The Clooney Sisters in 1945 on Cincinnati’s WLW radio. Within a few years, she went on to star in “White Christmas” and later received the coveted Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

Clooney had a successful recording career that lasted until her death in 2002.

She never forgot the city that gave her her big break. Clooney maintained strong ties to Cincinnati years after her career took off. The beloved entertainer even received a key to the city prior to a 1977 performance at Ault Park where she sang “We’re In The Money,” which she dedicated to her nephew, actor George Clooney.
