What’s up with these signs? I’ve refrained from going “beyond this point”, but nobody else seems to care and, most confusingly; there are benches to sit on beyond these signs.
EU checks for existence of signs and laws, they don’t usually check actual enforcement or statistics. Cyprus does not think hiring an extra guy to collect all the fines is worth the hassle. Result is on the picture.

The Salt Lake is a very important wetland ecosystem. It is already quite stressed and damaged due to human activity. People should really respect this and not walk beyond that point (or drive on it).
