A recall has been issued for a popular electric blanket.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) said that B&Q Ireland Limited recalled the GoodHome Saturnia Electric Blanket. This is due to a risk of fire or electric shock.

A component of the electrics in the device is at risk of overheating. This can expose live parts to the user of the blanket.

With electric blankets very popular at this time of the year, check that you do not have the impacted product in your home. If you care for an elder relative, check that they also do not have the product in their home.

The brand is GoodHome. The barcode is 5059340980560.

The product was available to purchase between November 2024 and December 2025. There are approximately 31 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.

“The product poses a risk of fire or electric shock. An electrical component may overheat leading to a risk of fire or it may cause the heat controller housing to deform and melt which can expose live parts to the user,” the CCPC said.

If you have this product, please stop using it immediately, unplug from the mains, and return to your nearest B&Q store for a full refund.

If you have any queries, please contact the B&Q helpline at 1800 946 327 (Monday to Saturday 8am–8pm, and Sunday 10am–4pm).
