Firefighters have showcased the incorrect way to cook your turkey.
This demonstration was carried out by firefighters from the Orange County Fire Rescue Department in Florida.
In the footage, the firefighters plunged a turkey into boiling oil, resulting in an immediate blaze.

The department advised that if you’re frying your turkey, ensure your pot is at least 10 feet away from the nearest building or overhang to prevent accidents.

They cautioned against using excessive oil and recommended testing with water before heating your pot to gauge the required amount of oil.
Firefighters also emphasised the importance of ensuring the turkey is fully defrosted prior to cooking.
