A partnership between the City of Santa Maria and the Santa Maria Philharmonic Society produced a video of a free public concert of “Delightful Duets” at the Public Library’s Shepard Hall.
A recent upgrade to the audio-visual system at Shepard Hall enabled the recording of the Philharmonic Society’s concert.
The “Delightful Duets” program featured pianist Ann Lucas and cellist Hilary Clark performing works by Antonin Dvorak, Franz Schubert, and Johannes Brahms.
The concert also runs regularly on the City’s Comcast Cable Education Channel 24, and on Public Channel 25 as part of the Philharmonic Society’s public access concert program. Both channels can be livestreamed anytime at cityofsantamaria.org/tv.
The Library partners with the Philharmonic Society to provide free concerts of classical music twice a year, and staff in the city manager’s office saw the free concert as a chance to test the new system.
They hope to make the Shepard Hall space and audio-visual system available to more groups and organizations to diversify community programming.
