According to the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) November report on EU car registrations, the figure for Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA) decreased 34.2% to 12,130. For the first 11 months of the year, they were down 38.8% to 129,024. The declines are part of a larger problem that runs from China to the United States. It also shows the extent to which the company’s strong stock performance this year is based on founder and CEO Elon Musk insisting that Tesla is not a car company but an artificial intelligence, self-driving vehicle, and robotics company.

I saw a recent [Model Y](https://www.silicon.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/Teslas-new-Model-Y-introduced-in-January-2025.-Image-credit-Tesla-04-1280×720.jpg) the other day. No Tesla branding on it at all. The most generic looking vehicle I’ve ever seen. Thought at first it was a BYD or one of these other Chinese brands. Nope, it was a Tesla.
I guess an unbranded vehicle that blends into the background is better than buying an obvious Tesla, then putting a sticker on that says “I bought this before I knew Elon was a Nazi!” Can’t really do that with the 2025 model…
