Would be coming from USA. Have always wanted to sail the fjords but would these ports “do it”? They seem more like city ports than what I may be imagining. Just starting my research and understand this could be a thing of the past.
Sailing would be in May if that matters.
Just looking at experiences that focus on scenery but not too exhausting of a hike. Boat rides, walks, local food. That would be fantastic.
How would we fair with kids? Thanks!

Personally, I wouldn’t do a cruise but if that’s the option that suits you best those are fantastic areas to go.
But if you decide to go by land, I absolutely loved my itinerary…. Flew into Oslo. Train to Bergen. Bus to stavanger and hike. Then short flight to Ålesund. Drove to Gieranger/flam. Then back to Oslo via Ålesund. It didn’t scratch the surface of the beauty of Norway but it truly was an amazing experience. We’re also early risers so we always beat the insane crowds of everyone coming off the ships and jumping into local tours.
