A historic victory claimed
With approximately 98% of ballots counted, the Central Election Commission’s data shows Vetevendosje won 49.62% of the vote. Speaking in Pristina, Kurti told supporters his party had achieved the “biggest victory in the history of the country” and pledged to form a new government to continue its work.
Key results and coalition path
The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) followed with 21.17%, and the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) received 13.68%. Kurti indicated he expects opposition cooperation to pass international agreements. To govern, Vetevendosje will again need coalition partners from community parties, including the Kosovo Democratic Turkish Party (KDTP), which secured its guaranteed seats.
Focus on the Turkish community’s role
The Kosovo Democratic Turkish Party, representing the ethnic Turkish minority, garnered 0.62% of the national vote, translating to 5,332 ballots. Its continued presence in a ruling coalition is closely watched in Türkiye, which maintains deep cultural and political ties with Kosovo’s Turkish community and supports its rights and representation.
