  1. Enjoy your 1 year of some cheap ass identity theft monitoring as compensation for their ineptitude in handling your non-public information

Makes sense. The duck was more worried about making commercials than securing the servers/network.

  3. I’m from the hometown of Aflac, Columbus, GA. I can honestly say it’s hardly surprising.

  4. how can something be so surprising but also not

everything i heard about Aflac was they were a scam including working for Aflac

but at the same time holy fuck how did this not happen sooner

  5. As much as their commercials annoy the shit out of me, I know whatever comes out of this will not diminish their marketing budget a single bit.

Let’s just post all our stuff online and save the time. Companies don’t care at this point

Fuck those guys cold calling and coming to the office to sell me on their BS. Glad I trashed that folder

  8. Good thing I had Aflac. I bet they’re going to give me a free year of identity protection.

  9. To support those impacted, Aflac is offering free credit monitoring, identity theft protection and Medical Shield services for 24 months

Fuckkk that.    They saved fucking ssn non encrypted??

They should have to pay at least a ten grand to everyone affected.

We have to start actually punishing companies who don’t protect our data.

  10. At this point whose SSN has not been exposed ?

But agree the company security team needs to be fired for keeping ssn in clear text

  11. Everybody has my information and still nobody wants to date me. (Could it be because I’m old, ugly, and married?)

  12. Unfriendly reminder that conservative politicians want to mandate that social media companies with notoriously bad security practices collect identification from users.
