A new morning for Canada-Japan economic relations

  1. Get us access to Family Mart chicken!

On a more substantial note, over two trips to Japan I kept running across commonplace consumer goods which would probably do well here (least of which being heated toilet seats). Japan needs large amounts of natural resources due to limited domestic reserves. There are probably a bunch of ways our two economies compliment each other.

  2. Japanese chains are expanding in Canada but slowly and few in number. A lot of that is cultural expectations and regulatpry environment being different. Hopefully there can be more work done to smooth things to allow easier business relationships.

I for one would love for more Japanese chains for food, grocery, and home goods to provide more competition. In turn we have a few of our chains to export, as well as specific goods and raw materials.
