KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Police responded to two break-ins in Kansas City on Dec. 22, just an hour apart. A week later, law enforcement arrested a man they believed was the suspect in both cases.

The Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office stated that Kansas City police responded to a Midtown business about 4:30 a.m. that morning, and learned that a business had been burglarized. A probable cause document indicated someone stole $250 from the business. The building also sustained $700 in damage.

Ryan Ozga was charged with two counts of second-degree burglary.

A short time later, police were called to a Westport business that also had a break-in. A victim told law enforcement the suspect broke into his business and tried to open the safe, but could not. He did take the cash register that had $200 in cash and ran off.

The estimated damages and stolen items total more than $1,400, law enforcement stated.

Surveillance captured the incident in Westport, and police identified the burglary suspect as Ryan Ozga. They took him into custody, and Ozga admitted to breaking into the businesses and stealing the cash registers.

Ozga was charged with two counts of second-degree burglary.

He was booked on a $20,000 bond, and while he was on probation with a four-year sentence, the state intends to revoke that, court records stated.
