Very similar to the Hatton Harden heist in London about ten years ago.
Sucks that it’s safety deposit boxes, a lot of that stuff won’t be insured.

“Drilled” like saying using home power tools from the garage.
Explosives would’ve been quicker but getting through that wall would’ve taken either a jackhammer or a few hammer-drills with massive bits followed by sledgehammers.
Somewhat quieter but the sound would’ve lasted much longer.
The real heist is the knowledge of where the vault weakness was, discovering that, it was just a matter of time.
