WANA (Dec 31) – Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesman for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, criticized what he described as the repeated false claims made by the Israeli prime minister regarding Iran’s nuclear program, in a post on the social media platform X.
Referring to a video released by the U.S. television network CNN that compiles the Israeli prime minister’s statements since 1996, Baghaei wrote: “This is ‘mythomania’:

In recent remarks, Netanyahu has also said Iran must “accept the reality that it should not have nuclear enrichment capability.” He also claimed that he does not seek to escalate tensions with Iran, but warned that “if Iran dares to attack, it will face catastrophic consequences.”

The Israeli prime minister further alleged that Iran is working to rebuild its military capabilities following what he described as recent “aggressive attacks,” claiming that Tehran has resumed the production of ballistic missiles.

He added that Iran may have been deterred by warnings from former U.S. President Donald Trump, as well as by the consequences of past actions less than a year ago.
Iran has repeatedly rejected such allegations, stressing that the peaceful use of nuclear energy is its legal right under international law. Iranian officials have also emphasized that the country’s defensive capabilities are non-negotiable and not subject to talks.
