I love those far right exaggerations. Just like “if we tax the rich then they will all leave!”

“Hmmm, should we stay here with finest restaurants and entertainment in the world, or move to Bugsquat, Tennessee, with their ‘Waffle Hut’ near the highway??” – all the rich people in NY today

Would love to see the real estate stats and trends correlated to Mayor Mamdani’s election and new searches/listings etc.
How many trash talkers were 100% bluffing and how many even bothered to make any move at all to leave the city. Surely these titans of industry who claim New York will fall like Babylon would, you know, divest from the city facing such an imminent catastrophe.
I think any of them that have listed their homes probably believe their dogma. Those that didn’t… Well… Maybe they see the possibility that their prognostications could have a margin of miscalculation. Maybe they perceive New York continuing to thrive or perhaps, expand as a desirable place to live under a new governance and philosophy.
