Daniil Sarkisyan made his debut under the Armenian flag at the ITF tournament in Tunisia

19-year-old tennis player Daniil Sarkisyan competed for the first time under the Armenian flag at the international ITF M15 Monastir tournament, held in Tunisia.

In the first-round match, Sarkisyan, ranked 1094th in the ATP rankings, convincingly defeated France’s Nicolas Temmachc (ATP 765) 6-2, 7-6 (6-2). In the second round, the Armenian tennis player lost to Spain’s Bernardo Munk Mesa (ATP 1375) 4-6, 4-6.

It was previously reported that Daniil Sarkisyan had changed his sporting nationality, switching from Russian to Armenian. The Monastir tournament marked his first official competition as a representative of Armenia.
