All 18 songs competing in the semifinal of the 2026 Malta Eurovision Song Contest have been released on Friday morning.
Fans can now listen to all the songs found on Spotify and YouTube and choose their favourite ahead of the live semi-final taking place later this month.
The semi-final will be broadcast live from the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre (MFCC) on January 15, while the final will be held on January 17.
The Malta Eurovision Song Contest will be hosted by Keane Cutajar, together with former Junior Eurovision winners Destiny Chukunyere and Gaia Cauchi.
Eurovision super-fans are in for a special treat, as two popular Eurovision artists will be performing during the live shows.Â
Tommy Cash, the singer and rapper who represented Estonia last year with his catchy Espresso Macchiato, will perform during the semi-final. Cash, with his high-energy performance, came in 3rd place in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025.
And during the final, fans will get to rock out to Croatian artist Baby Lasagna, who finished second in the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest with his track Rim Tim Tagi Dim.
Who are the semi-finalists?
This year’s line-up includes a mix of Eurovision veterans and fresh new talents. Out of the 18 artists, four are new to the Eurovision world.Â
Making an appearance for the first time in the competition is London-based singer and songwriter Chess Galea, who will compete with her song Shout It Out.
Another new face, Liston Bongailas, who goes by the stage name Liston, will perform his track Mela.
Ema Vella, a young singer who gained prominence on X Factor Malta as part of the girl group F.A.I.T.H and a Mużika Mużika 2025 finalist, will perform her song Achikuku (Don’t Think About It).
Kelise Borg, another singer who performed on X-Factor Malta, will be a new face on the MESC stage, and will perform her song Let a Girl Breathe.
After being kicked out of the competition four years ago, popular singer Aidan Cassar will return to the Malta Eurovision Song Contest with his song Bella. In 2023, he was disqualified from participating after the organisers said he had broken the festival regulations when he uploaded unauthorised social media posts.Â
Singer Denise will once again make an appearance in the contest with her pop track Trophy.
She first participated in the local competition when she placed 5th with her song Boy. In 2023, she once again placed 5th with her track Mara.Â
Matt Blxck will return to the stage with his track Ejja Lejja Ħdejja ‘l Hawn (The Flute). The singer is best known for his cheeky entry Banana which placed second in the 2024 Malta Eurovision Song Contest.
Former Malta Eurovision Song Contest semi-finalist and X-Factor participant, Mark Anthony Bartolo, will once again try his luck with his song Mumenti Sbieh.
Singer Kurt Anthony Cassar will perform his track On the Border, while Franklin Calleja, who participated in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest in 2015 and 2017, will perform his track Guide You Home.
For Nathan Psaila, this will be the fourth time he will be performing at the Malta Eurovision Song Contest. He will be performing Ganador.
Former MESC participant Janice Mangion will perform her track Univers. She previously participated in the local competition in 2017 and 2022.
Former Junior Eurovision participant Mychael Bartolo Chircop will hit the stage once again with his song My Sweet Angel.
Maltese twins who go by the stage name Adria Twins will perform their track NerÄ¡a Nqum. They participated last year with their track Qalb ma’Qalb.
A jury and the public will select the winner, who will represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna in May.
Last year, Malta was represented by Miriana Conte and placed 17th place.Â
