Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said on Thursday on public broadcaster RTS that the Americans expect the main points of the contract on the sale of NIS to be presented by January 23.

This is the date until which NIS has received an additional permit to continue operations. The president also mentioned that the buyer will most likely be the Hungarian oil company MOL. Additionally, the state has developed a legislative framework to address the needs of its citizens.

At the Pančevo refinery, restart work is scheduled to begin on January 5 and is expected to take at least two weeks. At the same time, Serbia can gain access to the 85,000 tonnes of crude oil that had so far been waiting at the port of Omišalj in Croatia. Transport via the Adria oil pipeline will resume after the Croatian crude oil transportation company JANAF received permission to transport oil to NIS.
