OKLAHOMA CITY –

Authorities say 2 people died and another was injured after a car crashed into a SW OKC business overnight Thursday.

Happening near Southwest 29th and Western Ave., a car heading East crashed into another heading North, prompting one of the cars to speed into El Rancho Western Ware.

The business then caught fire, and police say two people inside the car that drove into El Rancho died at the scene.

El Rancho Western Ware has been in business for over 15 years, and the owners said they were notified of the early morning crash through their alarm system. No one was inside the business during the crash.

“It may seem like we lost a lot, but the most important thing is those people that lost their lives,” El Rancho Owner Erika Mendoza said. “We feel for their families.”

Officials say they are still working to learn if the drivers involved in the crash were under the influence of any substances during the incident.

The condition of the injured person who was in the other car is unknown at this time.

This is a developing story.
