According to the IPMA‘s website, the Faro district may experience ‘sometimes heavy precipitation accompanied by thunderstorms’ until midnight on Sunday, 4 January.
The Algarve is thus the only region in mainland Portugal with a yellow warning, which is also in force in the Madeira archipelago.
Porto Santo and the north coast of the archipelago have a yellow warning until 3 am on Sunday, due to sea turbulence, with waves that could reach five metres.
On the south coast of Madeira, the same type of warning is in force, but only until 6 pm today, while in the mountainous region there is also a yellow warning until 6 pm today, due to wind that can reach gusts of 110 kilometres per hour.
