Pilsudski is considered the founder of the modern Polish state. Born in a Polish family from the Russian Empire, he dedicated his youth to the fight for Poland’s independence from Russia. Pilsudski supported the idea that all peoples Eastern European countries must collaborate closely against a Russian aggression, and that only united can they resist.

In a visit to Romania in 1922, Pilsudski declared:

the alliance of hearts is represented, from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea, by one people with two flags

Pilsudski also supported the idea of ​​Prometheus, that is, supporting the peoples still oppressed by the Russians to win their independence.
