  1. The article was published today/ after the operation.:

    >The news Saturday that—per President Donald Trump—the US had enacted a “large scale strike against Venezuela and its leader” reminded many that in November, White House chief of staff Susie Wiles told Vanity Fair that an ongoing campaign against Venezuela and its president, Nicolás Maduro, was focused on blowing up boats as opposed to an incursion on the country’s soil.[…]

    >Wiles admitted then that an attack on Venezuelan mainland would require congressional approval. “If he were to authorize some activity on land, then it’s war, then [we’d need] Congress.

It seems, as if she deliberately misled the public/ Congress members.
    If so: She should resign.
If not: She should resign in protest.

PS: According to the article, she told that in November. The interview was published mid December.

  2. What’s this “Congress” of which she speaks? It doesn’t appear to be functional anymore.

Agree with that perspective. Decisions this serious should involve congress so responsibility is shared, not rushed.

  4. I’m sure she came around to their way of thinking on this over time, as she did with every other thing she claimed to disagree with them about.

In the United States of America, yes. That would have been correct. That *was* correct. The United States of America, or the constitution and laws that made the USA a legitimate country, don’t exist in their entirety any more. It is now “the former” United States of America.

  6. susie wiles literally told vanity fair that land strikes in venezuela need congress approval trump just ignored that and bombed anyway, lmao.

I mean, she happens to right but she is also an idiot, bad person, and has no relevant knowledge or authority. It’s like finding some random drunk hobo in an alleyway that also agrees. They’d be right too. Lots of people know this. It’s not complicated.

  8. Apparently it doesn’t because Trump just did it without any approval and will face no consequences

They were probably only escorting US marshals who made an arrest. Just a guess

She’s just covering her ass with a written record in the highly unlikely event of consequences years down the road. She knows exactly who she made the public elect.

    Wow-
    So
She actually believes he’s going to go down and trying to carve out some plausible deniability for herself. Interesting.
