On 13 December 2025, the eighth round of bilateral political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and the Republic of India was held in Tbilisi. The Georgian delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Aleksandre Khvtisiashvili, while the Indian delegation was headed by the Secretary (West) at the Ministry of External Affairs, Sibi George.

The consultations covered a wide range of issues, including bilateral political relations, trade and economic cooperation, as well as transport and logistics. Discussions also focused on identifying new avenues for strengthening educational, cultural and scientific cooperation, enhancing people-to-people contacts, and exploring opportunities for experience sharing and cooperation within international organisations and other formats.

The discussions also addressed the exchange of high-level visits, the intensification of cooperation between the parliaments and sectoral agencies of the two countries, the implementation of joint Georgia-India projects, and the engagement of the business community, as well as the importance of reciprocal visits.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged detailed information on current issues on the regional and international agenda, including ongoing developments and challenges in the South Caucasus, the Black Sea region, South Asia, and the Indian Ocean region.

The parties  agreed to continue regular dialogue aimed at further strengthening bilateral and regional cooperation.
