A close friend of mine from Minsk moved to Warsaw after Russia invaded Ukraine. He also moved the majority of his software company’s employees. There had been a huge brain drain from Ukraine and Belarus to Poland. I’m not surprised their economy is booming.

You can see the end of authoritarian rule on the Poland line. And the beginning on the Venezuela line.
Remove the effects of oil prices to see the government effect. Maybe someone can drop in the oil price chart for us.

It is incredible how one time after the other, socialism creates tyrants and poverty and every developed country is full of people with a full belly defending socialism.

Poland dropped socialism in the late 1980s. Venezuela adopted socialism in the beginning of the 2000s.

Polands fertility rate hit 1.0 also. Second worst in europe after Ukraine. In 3 generations, 75-90 years, their population will be 90% less from now. Thats also assuming it wont drop any further, which it surely will. It will end up being – 95% probably

That’s what’ll happen when you sanction someone to hell, that’s also what will happen when your entire economy is 90% dependent on one commodity and the price of that commodity crashes

Interesting how Poland kicks off once communism is removed and it starts going downhill for Venezuela when communism comes in.

Reddit is a crazy place trying to think of anything they can besides the obvious of one embracing free market capitalism and the other embracing a dictatorial socialism
