What’s mental about this is to all intents and purposes the US already has Greenland due to their military presence there.
I would hazard a guess this is about something to do with trade, notably Denmark’s pharmaceutical industry, but I doubt Trump is that smart and it’s more just throwing toys out of a pram.

The thing that seems so insane about this isn’t that the US needs/wants resources that Greenland may have. What’s insane is that the government has for some reason gone all in on a Manifest Destiny style schtick, as if they couldn’t have just negotiated in good faith with a European ally/friendly nation and enriched everyone.

So. If that is the reality, than I am going to go on with my life and be happy. Fuck it.
If I do what I believe is the answer to getting this to stop. I will be all alone and labeled as a crazy person. There has to be organization and we need leaders that have access to microphones and are not afraid to talk about things that are scary and potentially sad.
I’m sure Denmark probably already has military bases there, but they need to publicly and loudly proclaim they are expanding it today. And Germany needs to park a couple of subs there, Sweden a few Griffens there, and France a few frigates. Just to make a point.

You are all discussing this as some remote politcal game. But this is MY part of the world, MY hemisphere. I live 20 minutes from Copenhagen, my country is part of NATO, we have had military excercises with your army, we didn’t develop nuclear arms because YOU vetoed it in return for promise of protection. This is a betrayal that is shaking the core of Scandinavia. Nothing will ever be the same again. USA is threatening a military ally with war. How can you let this happen?
