    Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic used the US capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro to argue that raw power has replaced international law as the main force in global politics, saying the UN-based order now exists only “on paper.” He framed the US strikes and raid in Venezuela as proof that “the law of power” and “the right of the stronger” dominate, while stressing that only a few states like Serbia still “roughly” try to respect international law. Vucic also warned that Washington’s goal is to secure dominance over global energy by taking control of Venezuela’s vast oil reserves, which he linked to a broader US bid to shape a new understanding with China while holding sway over key resources.
