Frozen food at Iceland supermarket
Those who are feeling the penny pinch of post-Christmas will be pleased to know that some freezer-tea essentials have been slashed in price again thanks to Iceland’s Mega Deals Event.
The savings campaign, which it runs each new year, sees multi-buy deals return, with discounts like 4 for £4.80 offers, buy two get one free deals, five for £5 deals, half price offers and better than half price deals.
Iceland’s own research has found that more than 10 million adults in the UK (15%) admit they plan to skip meals or eat less in January to save money while 32% say they will serve smaller meal portions to save money.
The store’s data – collated by Censuswide, which surveyed 2,000 adults in December, 2025 – also showed that more than half of Brits (57%) expected to run out of money completely by the end of the month, with January 15 identified as the point when household finances typically started to run out.
Richard Walker, executive chairman of Iceland Foods, said: “January is a tough month for millions of families across the country. We know this is the point in the year when households are cutting back wherever they can, worrying about the weeks ahead and trying to make every pound work harder.
