  1. For the last couple of decades Turkey’s foreign policy has been closely modelled on Turkish ice cream sellers. A degree of caution might be in order.

To all analysts/specialists/Turkish nationals : the Erdogan regime’s tone has been much more conciliatory towards Europe in the past few years. Is the reason the enduring economic weakness of the regime, a realization of its diplomatic isolation entailed by its neo-ottoman obsession or is it a way to distract from the probable further crackdown on the opposition in the lead-up to elecions in 2028?

  3. It is only in Europe’s interest to have good, friendly and cooperative relations with Turkiye regardless of the government and what you may think of them. They are a powerhouse nation in our region and we need to work with each other not against each other.

If Voldemort et al CHOOSES to play fair?

we are reaching towards a new level of deep shit, yeah?

  5. I strongly oppose Turkish support on EU matters. Turkey, by all means, should align with the USA.

The Trump administration sees Turkey as a valuable ally and important partner in NATO and talks about Turkey all the time with respect.

Comments here show how the EU sees Turkey. If I were Turkish President I would support the USA’s claim on Greenland and ask for recognition of Turkish claims in Cyprus and the Mediterranean in exchange for military and logistics support from Turkish US Bases

  6. And at the same time, nowadays, Turkey is trying to support the radical Islamist Terrorism in the Muslim majority countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh in the form of donations and setting up mosques and madrasas ( where radical Islamists are taught).

  7. This headline is certainly true. And was true when Putin invaded Ukraine. Now that it’s not just that country over there, people are waking up.

Hello fellow Europeans, I am Mehmet from Kars. Please refrain from using inflammatory language. You repeatedly ask for military assistance to defend Europe. You lack real military capacity, and your youth are largely pacifist. You failed to give Ukraine meaningful support. You do not even support Poland sufficiently. Against Russia, you rely on Turkey.

In fact, Turkey’s greatest gift to you would be opening its western border and letting millions of migrants flood into Europe. Allah willing, we will live to see those days.

Gotta love my nation’s ‘chameleon’ attitude. When it comes to inside issues ‘You are too European, our roots are in Asia! Listen to the religious and ancient culture rules’…but when it suits them ‘oh we are European!’…
