The reality of the situation is that Greenland in January is not an easy place to get to even with the largest military force in the world. It turns out that the vast majority of the arctic warfighting capability in NATO sits with the U.K., Canada and Nordic countries. If it came to a shooting war Greenland is not where it would be happening. It would be around US bases in Europe and the suburbs of Vancouver and Toronto.

Thats the idea. I have no doubt russians are pushing for this to happen, they’re pulling US and europe into military collision with the plan to shatter NATO. Then, the russians hope is that europe is for grabs. Smart thing would be to time it with Taiwan invasion, so hopefully we have a few years still.

As an American who dislikes/hates Trump, the EU needs to stay strong and never end NATO. Just vote the United States out, don’t let any Americans visit there on vacation.
Too many republicans I know still vacationing there like nothing is wrong in the world because it doesn’t directly affect them.

Yup, if the US attacks then NATO would have to use Article 5 but there is literally no way NATO would do so for Greenland if they have to go against the US. Once that happens then NATO will be pretty much seen as worthless.
I will say as fucking stupid this administration is and how anti-NATO they are I don’t think they would do a full on attack on Greenland. More likely they’ll strong arm a deal to get it which would 100% weaken NATOs standing but I really don’t think they’d actually launch an attack.
Then again this administration has been proving my extremely low expectations wrong so many times already.

I don’t think threatening US at “destroying NATO” is very productive. Maybe that is thing, US really want. So you can’t threat somebody things they any case want. Maybe this Greenland-case is the “trigger” some kind of “false flag” thingie, US really USE to destroy NATO. Double win. No anymore responsible Europeans defence and get Greenland. US is very capable to defence itself so they really don’t need Europe anymore kind of “buffer”.
