      Out of the thousands of ads I’ve see on videos I have purchased 0 products. They make me angry and I refuse to engage.

      Would they not just run more ads, even if you can skip them quickly, as a result?

      Also ban making the “skip” or “X” button difficult to click (which sometimes makes me accidentally click on the ad 🙄)

      Man, I could go for this in Canada. Way too much of my life is now spent waiting to be able to skip through ads in YouTube and Words With Friends (yes, I still play).

      I’ve been getting more annoyed with add companies. Adds shouldn’t be able to open a store page for you, they shouldn’t be able to pause themselves, or make you press multiple buttons to close the add, or make the close button so tiny and hard to press instead of opening the store page for them.. add companies are so friggin irritating.

      Is this really a problem that should be handled by legislation? Should it not be dictated by consumer behavior and don’t use the “free” service that’s powered by ads?

      If consumers had no choice but to use it, sure.

      Remember back around 2010 when every 2 minutes of content required 1 minute of ads on top of paying full price for cable.

      the amount of scam ads i had on yt…. are annoying and atlesat 10% of them are hour long or longer ads.

      For watching youtube on tv, actually I wish there is option to show only non skipable ads
      because I get lots of long bad videos served as skipable ads that I have to skip manually.

      How much time have I wasted in my life watching ads for products I will never buy so I can waste more time watching stupid videos on YouTube?

      Video AD’s should be banned because the content creators usually make them run at HD and eat poorer people’s limited data pool.  Static ads would be fair.

      Yeah if I don’t want it in 5 seconds I definitely won’t want it after 30. but it’s not about that. It’s about making you remember the brand and the product so it becomes familiar to you.

      yea… I would then just put a 30 second screen with text stating – this is where an ad should be. Pay to remove this. Or a survey that you had to fill out…

      You know it’s a business right? are your not paying for it… Did you want them to track more data so your information was more profitable? nothing is free – you pay – always. Just a matter of how.

      Insane that tens of thousands died in the Vietnam war only for them to end up being so influenced by capitalism anyway that they’d need a law like this.

      If youtube had skippable 5 seconds adverts before every video I watched and never any mid rolling ones, I wouldn’t go out of my day to bother blocking them. But you’ve got these days two 15 second ads playing back to back, mid roll ones alongside all of the other ads that appear everywhere else. 

      Sounds like the service will actually be usable for free in Vietnam, good for them. I doubt Google will pull out as they’ll miss out on a lot of advertising potential even with that restriction in place.
