Chairman of the Fukuoka Chamber of Commerce criticizes US President Trump, calling him “more ferocious than a bear and insane.”

In a speech at a New Year's celebration held in Fukuoka City　on the 6th, Hiromichi Tanigawa, chairman of the Fukuoka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (and chairman of Nishinippon Financial Holdings) , harshly criticized U.S. President Trump, calling him "a person far more ferocious than a bear" and "a dictator," saying that he is "implementing one policy after another that can only be described as insane."

　Tanigawa pointed out the US military attack on Venezuela, the arrest of the president, and last year's bombing of Iran, saying, "As if to say that might is right, they are implementing policies that can only be considered insane in every aspect of domestic affairs, trade, security, etc." He added, "Even so, their methods are reckless."

Regarding 　Trump's tariff policies, he criticized them, saying, "He has destroyed the free trade system that the United States has led for 80 years since the end of the war. Even within the United States, this dictator, driven by personal motives, is suppressing scholarship and freedom of speech and promoting the destruction of the separation of powers ."
