
Kiyotaka Sakaguchi, a 70-year-old company worker from Shijonawate, Osaka Prefecture, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of negligent driving causing injury. Sakaguchi apparently claims he mistook the accelerator for the brake.Â

Another car accident by an elderly. Another mistaking the accelerator for the brake. It seems this happens too often with elderly drivers.
It’s almost like people don’t maintain the same hand eye coordination or motor skill as they age. I have no idea why it isn’t required to retest at a certain age. Think of all the money the government could make
They already started the retesting at age 70.
Ppl rlly shouldn’t drive at that age (the general public rlly shouldn’t drive at all tbh and everything should be free public transport driven by professionals under the age of 40, but that’s another thing).
Driving should be banned for everybody over 60 unless they prove they live in a rural area. And even then it should be banned within cities and only allowed in their local area. Absolutely no excuse for selfish crusty old people to be driving when they live in cities with amazing public transport.
