      All these words to say nothing. 
      Realistically Ireland won’t do anything anyway, even if US annexed Greenland. We are too dependant on the US and multinationals.

      It’s scary how much Trump can do without even talking too much to the congress and senate. Goes to show how much the US actually resembles and XVIII century constitutional monarchy. The other presidents were simply taking it easy.

      Trump could have just as easily decided Ireland was strategically important to the USA. He still might. Appeasing him is not the way.

      Appeasement didn’t work before the last one.

      In response Europe should be taking a financial nuke approach, nationalize key strategic companies such as American pharma and companies of strategic value like Intel.

      “Continue to monitor the situation” that’s pretty much the stand from EU countries when it comes to the stupidity of Trump and US. Why not grow some balls and do something about it 🤦‍♂️

      Oh thank God!! For a second there I was worried they weren’t going to continue to monitor the situation, but at least now we can relax and be proud of our proactive government

      Water down their Guinness.
      Cancel the Daniel O’Donnell tour, or threaten to send Jedward.
      We can do this.

      I would much rather see them left-justify the text. The uneven word spacing does nothing for me.

      I remember some right winger from the States yelling at me in 2016, saying these drastic scenarios would never happen because there’s checks and balances. “He couldn’t do anything like that”. Wonder what that guy would say now

      I feel like I have learned nothing new from this statement. I’m aware that a statement needed to be made; I just wish it had SOMETHING of substance to it.
