we have arranged a special concert for the celebration, in which both former and current residents and special guests will perform, covering music from classical to folk and jazz,” says Gunda Vaivode, director of Latvian Radio 3 “Classics”.
In the first part of the concert, the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Jānis Liepiņš, will delight the audience with Latvian and foreign classics. The Latvian Radio Choir, pianist Reinis Zariņš, and saxophonist Aigars Raumanis will also perform. The world-famous opera star Elīna Garanča, soprano Annija Kristiāna Ādamsone, and bass Edgars Ošlejs will sing solos.

The concert will be headlined by violinist Daniils Bulajevs, folk music group “Bille” and of course the inimitable Maestro himself, Raimonds Pauls.
