Greece, N.Y. — A proposal to bring a new Delta Sonic car wash to Greece is being met with pushback.
The project calls for a new car wash, convenience store, gas station and associated parking on Latta Road near the Wegmans supermarket.
Many neighbors expressed concerns about noise, traffic, and property values during their appearance before the Greece planning board.
“I have nothing against Delta Sonic, but I don’t want Delta Sonic literally in my backyard,” said Manny Burgio. “It’s not a neighborhood that’s designed for a giant, giant structure like that. It’s 11 acres. It’s bigger than the Wegmans that’s already there. So, that’s really going to take up a lot of space, it’s going to be an eyesore.”
“We did have a traffic study done in May 2025,” said James Boglioli, attorney for Delta Sonic. “In October and December, we updated that traffic study based on town comments.” He added, “The detailed analysis demonstrates that the proposed project does not result in any significant adverse impacts even at full development.”
The town did not approve the current proposal.
Delta Sonic is being asked to return after addressing some of the concerns raised.
