The official opening ceremony of the 240 MW “Khizi-Absheron” Wind Power Plant, constructed by Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power, was held on Thursday at the Gulustan Palace, Baku.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev delivered a speech at the event, News.Az reports, citing AZERTAC.

Following President Ilham Aliyev’s speech, the event was addressed by Nasser Al-Qahtani, Assistant Minister of Energy for Electricity Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Ms. Lu Mei, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Azerbaijan; and Mohammad Abunayyan, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of ACWA Power.

A short video presentation detailing the “Khizi-Absheron” Wind Power Plant project was then screened for the attendees.

President Ilham Aliyev and Mohammad Abunayyan officially commissioned the 240 MW “Khizi-Absheron” Wind Power Plant.

The event concluded with a group photo.
