  1. We’re no longer allies. The Pentagon’s last defence paper made it blatantly clear that it seeks to dissolve the EU and implement right-wing regime change within European nations.

Posterity will be harsh on the United States. The US move like a bully. Hope American civil society will react.

All these events might have terrible consequences in the future. Let’s hope not.

As a European, I like American citizens at least the ones who have nothing to do with this government, your culture, your movies, your music. Let’s stay friends YES ?

Considering how quickly the US went from “allies” to seeing us as a threat and threatening to invade terretories of an EU member, all while Americans doing nothing to stop their self-chosen lunatics, I have my doubts that the US were ever a true ally.

So far the US probably just saw more use to have us one their side, then having us on the different end of the gun. That changed now, and makes it apparent that we seem to have different fundamental beliefs on “rule of law” vs. “might makes right”…

  4. Sad but true. Irreversible damage. Good point: here’s hoping that Europe finally wakes up.

The US isn’t. Trump and his MAGA cronies are. We have no allies and as an American the end is near for the US and I don’t even care anymore.

The US is going to find out the hard way that without it’s allies it has little power.
Those military bases that allow you to deploy all over the world? Gone.
Customers for your billion dollar weapon systems? Gone.
Countries willing to buy your debt? Gone.
    Trade relationships? Laughable.
    Intelligence sharing? Nope.

Has. Has turned away from its allies. I’m now sitting at the dictator / strongman table.

They are injecting that American Exceptionalism right into their veins now while the other people at their table are saying “Can you believe it was that easy to destabilize the USA!! HAHAHAHA”.

  8. Its because a senile corrupt arrogant rapist is running the US

hundreds of years of trust and power lost in a fraction of the time

No shit, Sherlock, the current US administration is horrendous. But then, why did you approve their actions on Venezuela again? Knowing very well that chances are the next target is Greenland.

  10. The USA isn’t allies with itself. The divisive politics and pretend blame of everything on Democrats including labeling them terrorists should show to the world that the maga movement is completely on its own, rogue and the enemy of everyone else.

They do not want to build inclusivity or find middle ground. America first is ME first. Trump first.

I am an American, we should be ashamed of what we have become, but most of us are too fucking dump and brain washed by right wing propaganda to realize it, and it will only get worse.

They lost this status, when they reelected Trump. Just wait till they betray us and than react

  12. On the turning away
    From the pale and downtrodden
    And the words they say
    Which we won’t understand

    Don’t accept that what’s happening
Is just a case of others suffering
Or you’ll find that you’re joining in
    The turning away

  13. Sadly until voters feel the consequences of this, it’s just going to be a cycle.  We already bounce between Democrat and Republican.  It’s likely going to take some form of action, from Europe, to make Trumpism radioactive.  Possibly even making the Republican Party radioactive.

How anyone seeing threatening sovereign nations as being acceptable is a mystery to me.  Especially when said threats come from the Whitehouse and his administration.

  14. The US today withdrew from 66 international organizations and treaties. Mainly UN organizations related to climate change, nature and science.
It is beyond embarrassing. The international community should shut the US out of everything because clearly that is what they want.
I say good riddance. Now the world can move on without the bully in the room. Insanity.

All because Trump doesn’t want people to know that he’s a pedo and took part in the murder of a baby. Qanon are you AWAKE???

  16. The US arrogance will be their downfall. This administration if full of violent hateful individuals drunk on power, they saw this military victory and immediately strengthened the narrative of more military action.. allies or not they don’t care.
Nobody questions the US military prowess but they are getting cocky.

  17. It’s a really scary thing.

The US is very far from perfect, but… A very strong argument can be made that a lot of the stability in the world over the last 75 years is due to the US being a big, strong power that wants to keep everything nice and stable, and wants to work with anyone else who feels the same.

The US stepping back from that, telling everyone else it doesn’t want to work together anymore, and doesn’t value stability, and in fact might value war and chaos is a really worrying thing.

It’s like hiring a security guard for your event, and halfway through the party, looking to see that the security guard is now shirtless and drunk and starting up a mosh pit in the middle of the dance floor, while all the other drunks are starting to realize no one is around to keep things in order.

Yes, it is. And if anyone’s surprised they haven’t been paying attention at all. 10 years ago the current President ran and won on a very heavy platform of withdrawing from the old international order. 8 years later (2 years ago) he did it again, and with the popular vote that time. That’s because the people who voted for him haven’t gotten any less anti-internationalist and instead even more people have adopted that view. So anyone who thought that Trump 1 was a passing fad was badly mistaken. America is not the rich uncle anymore and the people in it are tired of being on the paying side for so much of the international order.

  19. A german born russian asset with a dark past and fascist behaviour is given the most powerfull army on earth, what could go wrong?

  20. Just what Putin and Xi wanted – the US losing it’s place Geopolitically, leaving it open for them to step in.

  21. Dude I live in America and he’s turning into a Ricky Bobby meme… if you ain’t first you’re last. And we are definitely not in first.

  22. Craigslisteria on

Wrong! The Russian and Israel asset is turning our country away NOT the citizens of America. The Nazi clown car that is the current administration has control of the wheel. The Nazi clown car does NOT represent all Americans.

To Macron: if history is anything to reference, it looks to me like the US is gearing up for war in the not so distant future.

$500B increase to the US Military ($1T budget up to $1.5T now), military interventions recently in other countries, threats to many sovereign nations, active talks to invade Greenland if they don’t sell, US government internal policy to attempt a NATO breakup, withdrawing from a majority of international accords, committees, treaties.

Like come on guys, it seems pretty clear to me. Europe absolutely should be putting up all sorts of counter and defensive measures right now, including militarily. The last time France got caught with its pants down, they got occupied fast.

I don’t think this is the time to be pussyfooting around thinking the US will come back to the table. Trump is head of the US. Plan for the worst maybe.

Are all these world leaders just pearl clutching or actually understanding what’s happening?

He forgot the most important part: for a 2nd time as it was foreseeable. How did he prepare for this incoming scenario?
