BAE Systems Hägglunds has placed contracts worth USD150 million for an unknown number of Elbit Systems’ Iron Fist active protection system (APS).

The systems are for integration into CV90 infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) operated by unnamed European NATO member states.

In September 2025, Elbit Systems conducted a live-fire demonstration at an undisclosed location in Europe where Iron Fist successfully intercepted more than a dozen 120 mm kinetic energy (KE) armour-piercing fin-stabilised discarding sabot (APFSDS) tank rounds.

The hard-kill Iron Fist system is designed to give 360° protection against anti-armour threats including anti-tank rockets, anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs), warheads on or delivered by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and KE tank munitions, according to Elbit Systems.

BAE Systems Hägglunds made a similar order for Iron Fist APS units for an unnamed European country in August 2024, valued at the time at USD130 million.
