The farmers’ blockade in Western Macedonia at Siatista on the Egnatia highway ended at 5.30 p.m., along with the blockade at the Filota junction. The highway is now open from Florina to Kozani and from Edessa to Kozani, in both directions.

The Promachonas checkpoint on the Bulgarian border also reopened late in the afternoon. However, blockades remain at Exochi on the same border and at Evzoni and Niki on the border with North Macedonia.

In Nevrokopi, Drama, farmers and livestock breeders have blocked trucks and commercial vehicles since Thursday morning; the blockade, located about 500 meters from Exochi customs, is set to end at 6 p.m. on Saturday, with cars and tourist buses diverted to side roads.

Farmers have reopened the road at the Nea Malgara tolls on the Thessaloniki-Athens national highway, despite initially planning a 48-hour blockade that began on Thursday at noon. They reopened both lanes towards Athens and Thessaloniki shortly after 6.30 p.m. [AMNA].
