Explains why I’m covered in a smoke cloud in New Zealand. Weather here is coming from your neck of the woods, been an orange tinge in the sky all day

Good reminder that while bush fires can be out of sight out of mind for some people they’re actually apocalyptic looking nightmares.

I have this weird juxtaposition where bushfire smoke triggers an olfactory response that takes me back to my childhood during the Black Saturday bushfires. I remember it as a pleasant time despite the catastrophic nature of it all.

My car broke down in Yea trying to escape the fires. Had some friends pick me up but I’m so stressed. Met a few of the locals waiting, wishing them all the luck in the world

Jesus, looks like you’re flying over Hell itself. My thoughts go out to everyone affected, and ofcourse the firefighters who are out there battling this.
