Question: if in a certificat medical d’incapacite de travail the box "Medically contraindicated exit" check as "Non"does it mean that the rules about the authorised absence from home are not applicable and the person can freely go out?

  1. Hi!
Yes exactly. Though in Luxembourg you are officially not allowed to leave home for the first 5 days except for médical appointment or to eat out (but technically you should declare it to CNS)
After 5 days, you are authorised to be out from 10 to 12 and 14 to 18:00. Either way you can’t leave the country without having authorization from CNS via a specific form (let’s say you have family abroad and want to rest at their place).
And theoretically they can control you at your home until 21:00 in the evening.
If your sick leave is longer than 6 weeks if I recall, you can ask the CNS to ease up some of those restrictions.

  2. This is a realiy stupid rule. Even if it is in theory allowed to go out a bit.For example tô go to the nearesr Supermarket the bus drives through 100m of Belgium. . Or, they ask you to be in for a contrôle médicale in Luxembourg City at 7:40 when there is no train in summer. So you aren’t able to be back home till 1400, and have to get up at 4:30 to take the replacement busses.
Special big fun with a right hand in a bandage😭
While the rich are allowed to be in their garden, you are not allowed to go for a walk when its hot and you apartment has no balcony and only 30 m².
The good news is that they don’t check.

You can get out, you just need justification, like getting food, medicine, whatever is need for you to continue to live. Some certificate even allow you to leave the country for cure and “vacation”. Depend on your case and why you got that certificate. Now if you have the Flu and that option is not checked, please stay at home.

  4. That means that the rules you linked apply.
If “Oui” was checked, that would mean that you cannot get out ever, no matter the reason why.
