Power is out to thousands of homes with the same estimated time of restoration. [Edit: when I first posted, most had the same estimated restoration time. they've since been updated, or the website was bugging out for me]

Anyone have any inside information about the cause? It seemed to happen soon after the southerly change, but also seems to randomly affect lots of small neighborhoods across Sydney.

  1. Those are all small outages. Likely local transformers or individual poles down. A couple might be a substation. None like what you’re describing.

  2. If it’s branches on a lot of lines due to the southerly, they’ll have to inspect the lines to get a more accurate estimate. Those times all the same are just default time pre inspection.

Where I am more than half my suburb won’t have power until 1300 tomorrow,
    Thankfully I still have power

  4. Interestingly a huge chunk (1000+) of Newington is out, but it’s all underground power. Perhaps an above ground feed or some other box fault has knocked them out?
