I just saw that Tallinja has station to station electric bike rentals. Has anyone used these? I noticed on the website it has options to rent for several days at a time, but I’m not sure if the pay per use option means I can do it without a Tallinja card?

Any insights into your experiences with these bikes would be greatly appreciated!

Here’s the website, btw

  1. I walk past two different stations on my daily commute to work. For both stations, the bikes are in poor repair, and you probably couldn’t bike on them if you tried.

I think if you want to rent a bike in Malta, you absolutely should. Everything on either island is within biking distance, and car parking can be quite difficult, so it’s a good option. Traffic can be a bit hectic, so be careful of that. But if you do decide to rent a bike, I personally would rent from a private company. The public bikes have not been looked after well enough, which is really sad.
