Slovakia would not survive without Vladimír Mečiar, declared Robert Fico. According to him, today the country needs the same strong political representation as during Mečiar’s era.

Fico spoke about the anniversary of the establishment of the Slovak Republic and its prime minister at the time after having lunch together with Peter Pellegrini and Richard Raši.

“Nobody believed in Slovakia. And it was only the strong political representation that was in Slovakia at that time – in 1993 – that guaranteed that Slovakia survived the two most difficult years, 1993 and 1994,” declared the Prime Minister, noting that he was a member of the Slovak National Council when the Slovak Republic was established.

“I must mention the strong political representation in the person of the then Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic, Mr. Mečiar, without whom Slovakia would not have survived. The year is 2026 and we need the same strong political representation,” added the prime minister.

Fico už nevie, čo by vymyslel. Do volieb 2027 to už bude z jeho strany len zúfalosť.
