Former Sevilla, Valencia, and French national team defender Adil Rami has weighed in on who he thinks will win the Spanish Supercopa final. Having won the FIFA World Cup as a reserve, Rami now represents France in the Kings World Cup Nations 2026, an offshoot of the Kings League.
Fresh from a win that booked their ticket to the knockout rounds, he and coach Grégory Campi gave their take on the world of football.
Between Barcelona and Real Madrid in Saudi Arabia, Campi predicted a 2-0 win for Madrid, while Rami went for 3-1 to Xabi Alonso’s team.
“Because Barça’s defense has many problems with the high line. It’s going to be difficult for them,” Rami said. Asked to pick one player from each finalist for a Kings-style match, both landed on Pedri for Barcelona and Rodrygo for Madrid.
The Kings League, a seven-a-side football competition established in part by former Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué, continues its growth as it enters its fourth year.
France edged past Poland 9-7 in the final group match of this national team-based tournament, helped in part by a penalty taken by Rami himself, sealing qualification ahead of the final game of the group stage.
“We are not afraid of any national team, although we respect them a lot,” Campi said, adding that France were still waiting to see how the group would shake out with Algeria and Italy yet to play.
The conversation also included fantasy selections for the Kings League format. Campi, who grew up in Monaco, opted for Kylian Mbappé as his ideal star. Rami cast a wider net, naming Mbappé, Ousmane Dembélé, and Rayan Cherki as players he would love to see involved.
