On January 8, political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran were held in Yerevan.
The consultations were co-chaired by Vahan Kostanyan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, and Majid Takht Ravanchi, Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran for Political Affairs.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a broad agenda of Armenia–Iran bilateral relations, as well as issues related to regional and international developments.
Vahan Kostanyan and Majid Takht Ravanchi expressed satisfaction with the active dynamics of cooperation between the two countries, which is also reflected in mutual visits at various levels. They reaffirmed the commitment expressed at the leadership level of both countries to elevate bilateral relations to the level of strategic partnership.
The sides exchanged views on prospects for cooperation and the implementation of specific projects in the fields of energy, infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture, tourism, and other sectors.
Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan also referred to regional connectivity development projects, including the new opportunities expected from the implementation of the “TRIPP Route” initiative.
