Assuming the Murdoch press and retired sporting stars will be calling for a royal commission?

We have already got a royal commission approval to investigate this sort of racism

But how much tooth paste did they have?

I’m looking for the comments that say this isn’t ok, that laws need to be changed and Islamophobia is real, and that intimidation of Muslims isn’t ok.
I’m looking for the level of same commentary as we had for other religions but I can’t see it.
It’s always easy to pile up on Muslims and make jokes, but when other religions are hurt then it’s “laws, change laws, this needs to stop, this is unAusttalian etc”. I shouldn’t be shocked but I am disappointed.

>A Victorian Muslim religious leader was punched in the face after he and his wife were allegedly forced from their car on a Melbourne freeway in what police allege was a racially motivated attack.
[…]
Police alleged the occupants of the car hurled objects, drove dangerously to intimidate the couple and got out of their car to assault the imam and threaten his wife after forcing them into a service station.
That’s absolutely disgusting behavior, not the Aussie way. I hope the couple weren’t seriously injured and get the help they need.

Hopefully the attackers go to jail. Hate of any kind is not okay.

Is there anything to be said for another RC, Father?

Of course this is only in the Guardian and won’t make the Age or Herald Sun.
