OGC Nice have qualified for the last 16 of the Coupe de France, but only after a tense penalty shoot-out against fellow Ligue 1 side Nantes.

The match finished 1–1 after 90 minutes, forcing spot-kicks to decide the outcome, with Nice holding their nerve to progress.

AS Monaco are also safely into the next round’s draw following a more straightforward victory.

Monaco beat Orléans 3–1 on Saturday, securing their place in the last 16 without the drama faced by their Riviera rivals.
